This workshop shows how to solder cheap piezo contact microphones and what to do with the input signal in Pure Data. The sounds can be used directly but also to trigger and control complex physical modeling sound synthesis and even graphics. First part is soldering, second is patching Pure Data.
Requirements participants: Computer and soundcard with preamp. If your setup works with a normal microphone, it should also work with a piezo, both need pre amplification and wont work (well) with a line level input.
Μalte will perform live part of Electric Nights festival.
