The workshop is addressed to artists or developers who wish to add interactivity to their projects using cameras or the Kinect sensor. Through computer vision techniques, a environmental parameters (such as human motion) can be detected and create interaction in real time.
First session of the workshop will be an introduction to computer vision techniques and their use in installations and performances. It will also present the technologies and methodologies that will be used during the workshop as web cameras, Kinect sensor and opensource software Processing. In following sessions, the above technologies will be used to create an interactive work. Will be presented step by step all the stages of creating the project, while the workshop participants will put into practice the techniques taught in each session. Issues such as the connection of hardware, the setup of the installation space, the use of Processing to create graphics and communication with the cameras and the Kinect will be covered.
Session 1: Introduction to computer vision
Session 2: Hardware and communication with Processing
Session 3:Interactive visual graphics in Processing
Session 4:Complete digital project that interacts with the environment via the camera / kine
