The workshop focus is on converting electronic toys to musical instruments for producing music and experimental electronic sound and will be guided by Tasos Stamou. Tasos will share with us his ‘secrets’ and technical experience on the art of circuit bending. Moreover he will make an introduction to the field of video output / video bending.
A 5h workshop on the theory and practice of transforming cheap and used electronic toys to experimental musical instruments. Participants will experiment with circuit bending techniques and creative use of improvised music devices, which is an ideal alternative to expensive equipment musical instruments.
The aim of the workshop is for participants to engage in all stages of the process, everyone working on his own device, choosing from a number objects that are available or bringing something of their own interest.
First part of the meeting will be devoted on a theoretical approach and the practical part follow. Participants will experiment under the supervision of Tasos Stamou over their devices and then build their own musical designs, which will take them home at the end of the workshop.
